How To Spend Your Weekend And Make Your Enemies Envy You?
After a long week of hustling, we all want to make the most of our weekends. Some of us like going to the beach or hit the club, real hard. The same routine can get old though and sometimes you just want to do something different. I think it’s important to mix things up every now and then and get the most excitement out of the weekend. Do something you can tell your coworkers or classmates about.
We are going to explore our options and come up with some new fresh ideas to do this weekend. Are you ready? Let’s go.
- Go hike up a mountain. I am totally being serious with this one. Getting out and walking around nature is always a good idea. Imagine climbing up a mountain (not Mount Everest just yet) and feeling the accomplishment of doing so. This will switch up your Saturday morning walks around the park. This is very different and you can invite some friends to join you. I think having good company while doing this will make the experience even more fun.
- See a theater show. When last did you go to the theater? I am talking Broadway kind of theater. Go and watch a live show and just enjoy acting that is uncut. My favorite is going and watching a musical but I know this is not everyone’s cup of tea. Have a chat with some people who regularly watch these kinds of shows and get their opinion on which is good and which is not.
- Find a new workout club. Going to the gym is a great part of your weekend but it can get a little boring at times. Perhaps try switching it up and taking a class that is totally out of your normal activities. If you are a weight lifting strongman or girl, go and try a yoga class. If you are a cardio person, go for some Pilates training. It would be different because you are not use to it and you might even enjoy it. We all could try a few new activities from time to time to break the mold a bit.
- Go pick some seasonal fruit. I know this does not sound like the most exciting thing to do but it can actually be pretty rewarding. I enjoy going strawberry picking or cherry picking when they are in season. In fact, you have farms who actually host these kinds of events for extra funds. You may pay an entrance fee and be able to pick and eat as many of the fruit as you pick. This is a pretty big score if you ask me and yummy at the same time. At least this way you won’t spoil your diet and get some exercise walking around the farm.
- Watch a free movie online. Find some movies online websites and chill out. This is great if you are not in the mood to leave the house. If you are feeling for some company, invite some of your friends over and make it a social event. You guys can even play a game to decide who picks the first movie. Get some snacks together, cover with a blanket and enjoy some movies of your choice. I particularly like this one because I love sitting on the couch in my pajamas.
- Sundown garden concerts. Many parks host sundown concerts with some local artists to give them a break. It is always important to support local talent, especially if they are good. Gather your picnic basket and blanket and go find a good spot. The sundown ones are great because you get a night out in a safe and fun environment. This beat going to a club any day. You could do this as a date or with a bunch of friends and make a night out of it. By far, one of my favorite activities.
- Take a cooking class. Learning to cook is a great way to save some cash and what better way than to do it surrounded by some fun people. You could sip on a glass of wine while learning some great new recipes. Have a look online for some of these classes and chose the one most interesting to you. There are usually themes so you can really go anything from Mexican cuisine to Vegan favorites. Whatever you feel like in that moment, do sign up. It is totally worth it.
So these activities are not your normal weekend things to do but that is the whole point. It is supposed to give you something to talk about after it is over. You can always go back to the club and park picnics the following weekend but try and spice things up every now and then.
